Lots of "Firsts"

I haven't posted in a very long time and Hunter has experienced many first times since then. Some we've captured with video or pictures, and some we haven't quite gotten footage of. I'll try to make this recap as succinct as possible, starting from the most current and working my way backwards...

Hunter's First Christmas

Christmas included attending the Family Candlelight Service at church on Christmas Eve, opening lots of presents (with the help of Jake the dog), and lots of fun. Hunter loved the music in "big church" and of course, the candles. We got to see our friends the Taylors and the Snowdens - I'm so glad they'll be part of this first Christmas memory.

Hunter scored with some clothes and lots of toys. He also blessed Mommy and Daddy continuously with lots of smiles and babbles.

Hunter's First Playground Experience

We have lots of pictures of this, too, but I haven't uploaded them yet. We went on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day. Hunter got to swing and go down the slide with Mommy. He pretended like he was going to go across the monkey bars and also had his first "ride" on some kind of green bobbly thing. :)

Hunter's First Back to Front Roll (12/16 - 6.5 months)

Hunter still hasn't realized that he can actually move himself around by himself. So rolling around on the floor hasn't really been a priority. He consistently rolls himself to his side, but finally rolled all the way to his tummy on Sunday, the 16th. I didn't actually see it happen because he did it in his crib while I was in his closet picking some clothes to put him into. And I don't have any video of it since he refuses to do it again. But at least I know he CAN do it...just have to make him WANT to do it again.

He is also starting to somewhat enjoy being on his belly, but not enough to want to crawl. Maybe during his eighth month....(which is right around the corner).

Hunter's First "Words" (12/13 - 6.5 months)

The weekend of Mommy and Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary (12/14) was quite a big one for Mr. Hunter. That Thursday (the 13th), he figured out how to say his B's and boy did he practice that weekend. Again, we haven't managed to capture his "talking" on video yet, but he's really "ba-ing" a lot these days. He's even started doing it throughout the morning (starting around 4:00 am sometimes, and continuing on and off for about 3 hours). Thankfully, Mommy is able to go back to sleep (most of the time) and keep one ear open for when the "talking" turns to whining when he's ready to get up.

We really do have a lot of pictures to post, but just haven't had the time to organize them and post them. Hopefully will get to it tonight. And will also have more pics after this weekend when we get to have Christmas with both of our families.

Hunter - 6 months

Hunter's Grandpa and Great-Nanny (Grandpa's mom) came to visit this weekend.

Whatdayaknow! Hunter's feet are as ticklish as his Mommy's - check it out in the video below.

(In reality, we've just figured out that when he's sleepy, he'll laugh at pretty much anything, just to stay awake. hehe)

Hunter's First Overnight Trip

We went to Grandmommy and Papa's house last Friday night and got to be with all the cousins and aunts and uncles on that side of the family. I didn't capture Papa or the Aunts on film, so hopefully Grandmommy got some pictures of them...I think the focus was on the kiddos this weekend. So, in order of appearance, we have the boys - Uncle Mike, Uncle Patrick with Braeden, Devlin, Colin, then all three of the little ones. Then the girls - Marisa, Kaiya and Chase (then all three together). And last but not least, Hunter.
.

Round it all out with a video...

Super Baby!!

OK, so we took some of these last weekend but I managed to keep myself from posting them until Halloween arrived. We just LOVE this costume! And Hunter is proud to be copying his cousin, Colin, and his costume. Maybe they can dress up together in a couple of weeks when they see each other again. :)

Sometimes Super Baby moves so fast that he's a blur...

Hunter - 5 months

I did take some pictures of Hunter in his Halloween costume yesterday, but I'm forcing myself to wait until Halloween to post them. It's very difficult though, let me tell you - the costume is perfect!!
.
We did take some other pics this weekend though. The next couple were taken Saturday night in our backyard with the pumpkin we bought and will eventually carve. Hunter was MUCH more interested in the grass than he was the pumpkin, but we still got some cute pics.

And we started veggies last night, although green beans were not our favorite. He didn't exactly finish his serving and he was making faces pretty much the entire time. I did get him to smile after I finally stopped feeding him.

Hunter's First Solid Foods

Yes, we decided to go for it, and boy was it fun!! We started rice cereal tonight and captured some pictures and video (thanks to Daddy).

Unfortunately, Hunter also has his first sinus infection - poor guy just can't seem to feel better! Darn those daycare germs!!! But you would never guess he feels bad most of the time, like when he can't stop laughing at Mommy.

And when he does nap, he naps soooooooo well. He took a 2 hour nap today and then took a shorter nap in Daddy's lap later in the evening.

Hunter - 4 months

Some pictures from the weekend...

Have I mentioned that I like to eat bubbles? And that Mommy spikes my hair when I'm in the bathtub????

Trying out Blogger's video function...

Another video - this one's longer...

Hunter - 17 weeks

Unfortunately, Hunter has his first ear infection. So the pics here were the best I could get given his demeanor over the past 24 hours or so. We got an antibiotic today and we're hoping it works fast!!

The good news is that we have a growing boy on our hands! He weighed in at 14 lbs 4 oz and was a whopping 27.5 inches long!!! The doctor said to keep doing whatever we're doing. We have his 4 month well baby visit next week, so we'll get to talk to the doctor more about his size and when we start solids and all that good stuff.

This first picture is from yesterday and I just love it. He was so tired and just plain worn out after I picked him up from daycare, so I stripped him down to his diaper, gave him his bunny and put him in his "chair" and he was out. His temperature went down while he slept and he was in better spirits for the evening.

We also brought down his Baby Einstein jumper (thanks to Dave) and he really likes it!! I will try to post the video later this week, but here is a picture for now. We have to put a blanket around him to keep him from falling forward (he doesn't like it when that happens), so he can't reach everything as well as he will be able to when he's in it without the blanket. But he really enjoyed playing in it today, when nothing else could get him to stop crying (poor thing). But Mommy still has to play "with" him when he's in it, or it's not nearly as much fun (or so the crying says). :)

Hunter - 16 weeks

This week, we've figured out how comforting a stuffed animal can be...

Before... After...

I also got dressed up for church again this week - all in white though, so some people thought I was a girl. :-( Mommy promised not to make me wear this outfit ever again (which is a good thing because it was gettin kinda tight). :)

Had to add this picture...
