First trimester = DONE

I'm officially 13 weeks preggo with baby number two, and feel like I'm at least 5 months along. Everything is bigger this time...instead of Hunter saying "baby" when asked what's in Mommy's belly, now he lifts up my shirt and says "WOAH!!!!" LOL! (Even though it's funny, I'm very sad to say I'm not lying!)

Here is the best picture from last week's sonogram. It's a profile view (for those of you not adept at viewing sonogram pictures) and he has his left hand at his forehead, like he's saying, "I think I might faint." The brightest light in the middle of the picture is about where his teeth would be, if that helps. Once you see it, you'll see it clearly. It's actually a very good pic considering it's so early!!

I just realized I said "he" and "his" above even though I'm not nearly as convinced as I was last week that it's a boy. My cousin tells me that when she was 13 weeks pregnant with her second, they said there was an 80% chance it's a boy...at 18 weeks, they found out it was a girl. So now I refuse to come up with names on my own until I find out the sex for sure. Brent continues to throw out boy names and he's really very good at it...I'm guessing he will come up with the name that I fall in love with. Oh, they did put a pic on the CD of "him" sitting on the camera, but when it was live, the "parts" were much more distinct. This is what I have to go by though...(feet up top, butt and "parts" in the middle of the picture)...

Have a great weekend!!!!

Animal sounds

So, a lot has changed in the last month or so at our house. Hunter moved into his new class at school. He got his glasses. He says "baby" when I ask what's in Mommy's belly. The thing is, there are probably a zillion other things that this child can do that I am clueless of. I am pretty sure this is a direct result of his new classroom and the activities that they do.
.
Last night gave us a very good example of this. Long ago, Hunter would tell us what a cow says - mooooo. Then he stopped and would not make the sound no matter how hard we tried. He also has done his own doggy sound for awhile (more like "huh huh"). Well, then he got into a little Disney book on Simba, the Lion King, and started "roaring" like a lion. This is a pretty cool, gravely sound he makes, with the R's and everything - this was probably late December or maybe just earlier this year. Well, apparently the kid knows nearly every animal sound now and I didn't even know it. We went through the list last night - snake (sssss), cat (meow - the cutest ever), horse (nayyyyyyyyyy), cow (moooo), line (rrrrroarrrr), dog (huh huh), frog and rabbit are the same (this isn't a sound - this is hopping up and down and laughing hysterically - I have to get this on video), duck (kack kack), bird (teet teet - louder than you can imagine and with gritted teeth), rooster (sometimes comes out as just doo-doo-doo, but cockerdoo came out once or twice), and the strangest one ever is for baby, which consistently came out as a panting sound and I have NO clue what that is!!!
.
I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two, but Brent and I were laughing so hard as Hunter was showing this off last night. We got the camera back yesterday, so hopefully I can get some video soon. It is just amazing how much this kid changes every day!!!

Pictures and NEWS!!!

First, here are some pictures of Hunter in his glasses. Strangers are telling me constantly that he "looks like a little professor." This seems to be the most common comment. We've had to put the band on the back of his head again. He was taking the glasses off all the time, and the band seems to stop that behavior. I'm going back today to get new lenses with a slightly different prescription. Hopefully, that will help. The glasses don't even seem to fit him anymore, so I'll also have her adjust them and maybe they will stay on his noggin a little better without the band.

I love that last picture. We were at our favorite weekend restaurant, Red Robin, and he was behaving so wonderfully. He's such an angel 99% of the time...gotta love him.
.
OK, so the news. I meant to post a picture or two, but I keep forgetting to blog when I'm at home at night. I barely get on the computer from home and when I do, I just get mad at the wireless connection. So Hunter is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!! We are so excited! I'm due August 14, so just 12 weeks along, but started showing WAY early, so I'm already wearing some maternity clothes. Ridiculous!! We had an ultrasound last week and the baby was pretty much sitting on the camera. Whether we wanted to know or not, it certainly looks like a boy to me. I had already glimpsed this evidence before the technician asked if I wanted to know, which I suspected meant she had seen exactly what I had seen. We will find out for sure at my 18-week ultrasound, so stay tuned!!! And feel free to throw some boy names out at me because Hunter was the only winner we came up with the first time around - all the other good names are TAKEN! :)
