Hunter says, "I rolled over!!!"

12 weeks and 6 days old and Hunter rolled over from his belly to his back!! Yay for Hunter!! I would have thought it was a fluke, but he's done it three or four times now, and I'm hoping he'll repeat it when Daddy gets home. Yay!
.
Hunter is also talking to himself a lot these days. Usually he only babbles when we are stimulating him, but the last few days, he's cooing to himself a lot. It's so precious!

Hunter's Baptism

Hunter was baptized today and everything went very well. Lots of family members were able to be there to help us celebrate the occasion, including his sponsors Aunt Jenni and Uncle Heath, and Uncle Brad. He was exhausted by the time everyone left the house just before 3:00, and he slept until Mommy had to wake him up to eat finally at 5:30. It was a very special day and we are grateful to all of our family who could be there with us.

Hunter - 12 weeks

I didn't get lots of pictures today but wanted to at least post a couple and will try to take some more tomorrow, even though it will be a day late. I also wanted to let everyone know that Hunter's first days at "school" have gone very well. He's still trying to figure out his "schedule" but today was lots better than yesterday (his first day). He was the only baby in his room when I picked him up today. I had to wake him up to take him home (after waiting a half hour or so while he slept - it's so dangerous to wake a sleeping baby!!). But he went back to sleep when I got him in the car. He's sleeping so well now that he's getting so much stimulation during the day. I enjoy our afternoons and evenings together even more than I did when I was at home all the time because I don't get as much time with him as I used to. And our nighttime walks and baths are precious to both Mommy and Daddy.

Hunter says, "This was my first day of school. I looked pretty cute in my labrador puppy outfit (thanks Sarah!), although Mommy wasn't able to capture enough pictures of me in my full spendor." :)

"And yes, I'm an Aggie, born and bred. Thanks for the pillow, Uncle Brad."

Last days of freedom...

Mommy goes back to work on Monday, so Daddy took a couple of days off to spend some family time at home. We've really enjoyed the summer, even with the rain and heat - funny how one week you're praying for a break from the rain, and the next, you're praying for more rain. Then you get it and want it to stop. I personally will take the rain anyday because it is so much cooler and we can take Hunter outside actually more often when it's raining than when the heat index is 105 or more.

So, because the rain cooled things off a bit, Hunter got to take his first nap in the hammock. He had just finished his evening bottle (we're giving him one a day now to prepare for daycare) and we went outside to just chill on the hammock. He was asleep about 3 swings into it, and we're talking SOUND asleep. I was able to get up eventually and go ask Brent to get the camera, went back to the hammock and he was still asleep in my arms. Such a cutie! (And yes, that's a 12th Man bib covering Hunter's front - thanks to the Aschenbecks for that one!)

Daddy and Hunter have also been getting lots of quality time together. And of course, Mommy can't stop clicking the pictures. We still have 3 days left of this "long weekend" and I'm sure the camera will be full by Monday.

Hopefully, I will continue my diligence of posting at least weekly pictures of Hunter. If not, I apologize in advance. I definitely intend to continue at least taking weekly pictures because I want to be able to look back and see how much he changed week to week.

Have a great weekend!!

Hunter - 11 weeks

First, I thought I would post some pictures from the last week since we had some firsts this week.

We took our first "road trip" last Wednesday to Shannon's house in Evadale, Texas. Hunter did really good on the way there - not so great on the way back. But we had an excellent time with Shannon and her two little ones.

The Galleria was our next adventure - we met Andrea at the Cheesecake Factory for a birthday dinner and she took this cute pic of me and Hunter. He did really well, as he always does in restaurants.

We also had our first trip to church. Well, we had actually visited the nursery a couple of weeks ago, but Mommy didn't leave Hunter there. This time, he stayed a little over an hour and apparently slept in one of the nursery worker's arms the entire time. A little spoiling is good for my little boy occasionally. :)
.
We also got a really cute towel from a friend and had to take some pics of Hunter all wrapped up in it. He continues to love bath time every night and he always looks so cute and happy wrapped up in his towels.

And last but not least, some pics taken this morning...

Hunter - 10 weeks

Has it really been 10 weeks already???

Yes, I'm posing - and aren't I cute???

We tried the swing again today, and yes, he likes it!! I don't think I had tried the swing at a time when Hunter wanted to really be stimulated, so I put him in it this afternoon after a few minutes playing on his Discovery Gym. He was nice and content and the swing didn't change that. He started getting tired a few minutes ago and got a little cranky, but I put his trusty paci in and he's happy as a lark. I have a video too, but want to try to load it a different way, so check back later to see if I figured out how to do it. This pic was actually taken while swinging - just had to time it right. Not sure if you can tell, but his head is just a couple inches from the top of the seat - I told you he was long!!!
